Track and competition tires have specific features and characteristics that separate them from the UHP tire:
- They use a semi-slick (or slick) tread pattern with minimal grooves that maximizes contact with the road. This provides grip and traction on dry surfaces.
- Track and competition tires are made with a much softer, stickier rubber compound and stiffer sidewalls. These features allow maximized grip and traction for extreme cornering and braking force as well as precise handling during high speed maneuvers.
- Track and competition tires are made to withstand the high temperatures generated while driving at high speeds on a track. They are made with advanced rubber compounds that help control the heat as well as maintaining high speeds and stability.
